About Digital & Technology Disruption: New opportunities and challenges in the Hospitality Industry

The constant evolution in digitalisation and technology has been changing the hospitality landscape at an ever-increasing pace, as never before.  In addition, contemporary consumer trends of new generation’s digital native consumers such as mobile connectivity, social media, internet of things, personalisation or immediacy foster the technological disruption increasingly.

 

Within the hospitality landscape there is a double and fierce competition among traditional hotel groups and against digital intermediaries who continue to disrupt the value chain between hospitality players and their customers. Consequently, traditional hospitality has to redefine itself to remain competitive. The key challenge is to change the corporate mind-set within a non-digital native organization, rethink an agile digital ecosystem that offers many more connection and interactions with guests and ultimately implement digital transformation across the company. With help of open API’s, cloud software (SaaS), third party integrations, data warehouse, robotics, artificial intelligence or online visibility, hotels are given many opportunities to redefine an own digital ecosystem that maximizes the effectiveness of their business model.

The workshop ‘Digital and Technology disruption’ is about managing risks and opportunities at the same time. The workshop is focusing on concepts each illustrated with inspiring case studies and help to discover the digital opportunities of today and tomorrow. A wide selection of subjects such as online visibility, digital customer journey, use of data, hotel sales and distribution, hotel operations, technology trends cover the completeness of the subject.

The aim of the workshop is to inspire the attendees how to exploit technology as an accelerator for business, on a scalable and successful way.
